Book Boyfriends

I really think this needs to be said so here we go:

How are we fangirls supposed to find a boyfriend in real life when we keep reading about boys like Daemon Black or Noah Shaw, not even talking about Maxon Schreave!
Don't get me wrong I do appreciate it A LOT and I am certainly not complaining but I keep comparing the boys I know with the fictional characters I love.. To be honest I actually think I will become a cat lady forever searching for my non existent book boyfriend in reality.
I am sure I'm not the only girl out there which definitely has a problem with looking at 'real' men unbiased but I guess I'll have to live with that though lol

Yay for all the authors that give us somebody to swoon over
and double yay for being totes ok with it!

Allegiant [movie] by Veronica Roth Review

I really wish I would have known that they pretty much changed the whole book before I spend my money on the movie....

What the What

Don't get me wrong, the acting was really good and the whole cast was super great but the story was just not in the right order and the dialogues.., I can't even put it in words. I am just disappointed.

There where scene when you'd ask yourself "Wait, that's actually happening right now…?" It's hard to explain what it was that made me look at my watch and count how many minutes there are left. I know that sounds drastic but well for me that's how it was...

Also I always pictured Caleb as a narcissistic little dumb-o but I actually kind of felt empathy for him here and that makes me wonder and question myself in some ways.

But what really made me kind of aggravated was the fact the ending was something! Why split one book into two movies if the first one wasn't even the way it should be. I'm really looking forward to the next one and how this one turns out.

I really really loved Divergent because they pretty much sticked to the actual story (apart from the Butterknife scene of course).
Insurgent, not so much but I can't say why, there was just no chemistry between us sadly.

Pro's

If I had to rate this movie I'd give 1 star and that only for Theo James' (Tobias/Four) scene where he's pretty much butt naked in the shower. ;)
Oh and I liked that they made Peter more goofy than in the book. I don't know it just gave the whole character something fresh and funny though he's still a douche in most ways!

~So I guess i'll just stick to the books and have my own little movie in my head ~

Opposition by J.L.Armentrout Review

Good zeus and every other god that exists...

I don't even know where to even start!

I just finished OPPOSITION like ten minutes ago and I am freaking out!!!

So at the beginning of the book I set my expectations really high because I mean.. it's the Lux series hello?

Like 150 pages in I was so confused I was seriously fixing to go to page 300 and something to see if anything changes or if I can continue to freak out.
But lucky me, I didn't do it and I could calm down anyways !- No Spoilers -!

I was so afraid that the last part of this series would disappoint me but holy M. it did not. Not at all.

There was a time when I looked at the remaining pages and thought "Well, damn, there're not enough pages for everything to happen that has to happen!"

And once again this amazing author ,which has a simply bomb talent for letting us experience everything as if we were Katy or Daemon, surprised me with making the important stuff happen in time.
And with everything I mean everything... You guys know what I mean if you have read the books! ;)

The only thing I was super sad about was that there were only 900-ish pages (in the e-book!) and I'm sure that I am not the only one wanting more than that!
If I would put all my thoughts on this super duper breathtakingly gorgeous book this blog post would be waaay to long and I really don't think anybody has time for that much swooning so long story short = This series is on the same level for me as the Mara Dyer series which is my favorite trilogy of all time.

So I won't go into any detail about how I feel now after finishing this series for good, you can probably imagine.
*...I'm so gonna reread it though like probably now...*
But this pictures pretty much sums it up:

To all the fangirls (and boys) out there who are suffering like I do right now ->
There is no medicine other than starting the next book and after finishing this one being torn all over again. It's a vicious circle.
You are welcome <3

The Lux Series by J.L.Armentrout

I am currently rereading the Lux series by J.L. Armentrout:

~Obsidian

~Onyx

~Opal

~Origin

and last but not least

~Opposition (which I am reading right this second for the first time)

I've loved this series from the very first moment I started it! The whole relationship between Daemon and Katy is such a love hate kinda thing but that's what makes it so special and interesting.

And well, Daemon is just a total babe so what else can I say about him than that he is my absolute dream boyfriend for probably all my life.

[How can we not have a wrong image of a 'real' boyfriend when our favorite authors keep presenting us boys/males like Daemon?! Like seriously...]

So anyways, Opposition is the last part of the Lux series as far as I know and I am totally stoked! I was suuper confused at the beginning (you'll understand why when you'll start it) but now I am super happy again but then again I'm not because of all the crap that is coming down you feel me?

Ugh, I just can't stop reading although I should be studying for my finals but I have got to know what'll happen next!  School just has to wait for Daemon and Katy to get everything figured out! lol

Erebos Review

Handlung

Legend by Marie Lu Review

A couple of days ago I found 'Legend' on my bookshelf and since I was waiting for my latest book order to arrive I decided to give it another shot and reread it.
The first time I read Legend I wasn't fully convinced.. So, this time I was pretty sceptic but thought
"Well, maybe I just didn't really get the background of the story".

Here's a quick summary of the book content:

Basically, there's the Republic and the Elector with a great amount of soldiers, a boy, Day, who is considered the public enemy number one and a girl named June Iparis, who is working for the Republic as an agent.
After finding out that June's brother was killed she wants to find the murder and make him pay for what he's done. From what her supervisor told her, Day is the one to be blamed for this incident.
Long story short June finds the supposed murder and what happens now is nothing Day or June would've ever expected...

And let me tell you one thing: I am so unbelievably happy that I did reread it! I loved it! And I give 4/5 stars. The only thing that kind of bothered me was that the main character June is only 15 yrs old and a republic agent. That's just my opinion but I also don't really see why the Republic would feel threatened by Day, who is also 15 yrs old... But other than that I really enjoyed this read and though I do not like ebooks too much (I wanna smell the book and feel the paper!) I almost immediately downloaded the beginning of the second part 'Prodigy' from the ibooks app!

Endgame by James Frey review

I absolutely loved ENDGAME by James Frey ! I had no idea what i'd be reading but like the second I started this book I was lost. Lost in the game. I thought about endgame all the time and tried to figure out what's next. Who will survive, who will not? It's so hard to pick favorites when on the next page something terrible and shattering happens...
The writing is really unique too! You see everything from every angle while it happens and this just gives you so many options to twist and turn the actions! You can definitely understand, or at least see reasonable motives, for why a certain person acted a certain way. The whole book itself was a mystery for me from the very beginning to the end! The puzzle inside is yet just another bonus in the book!
Totally worth reading!!

I give 5/5 Stars!

Review the Danish Girl

"The Danish Girl" gets 4.5 points out of 5 from me.

This great, and true story tells the life of two married painters, which live together in Copenhagen. Einar Werder, which is played by the academy award winner Eddie Redmayne, poses for a painting his wife Gerda, played by Alicia Vikander, has to finish for a Ballet dancer, which couldn't make it to this appointment herself. So Einar gets to hold a dress and wear stockings and this is the moment when his true self comes to the surface.
As a game, Gerda suggests Einar going to an event as a woman, Lili. For his wife all of this is just a fun thing to try out but Einar/Lili is starting to find out who he really is...

I am not going to go on here because I for my part did not know the whole story so it was a fascinating time watching the movie. What I did know was which actors would be starring in this film so I have to admit that I set my standards really high and I am not overacting by saying that they exceeded all my expectations! And of course, Eddie Redmayne is nominated AGAIN for an Oscar which makes me so unbelievably happy because he really would deserve another one in my opinion. Alicia Vikander is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a supporting Role, and after her performance in The Danish Girl I would be less than surprised to see her going home with a prize!

I can say this is a heart-rending story, amazingly told. So a thousand congrats to the director Tom Hooper and Lucinda Coxon for the screenplay.
The whole content of this film is very important especially for people struggeling with intersexuality! It shows so much strength in only 1h and 59 minutes and I think it helps to understand what it means to be worn in the wrong body.
I actually don't have the right to say something like that because I don't know those problems and I cannot even imagine how hard it must be to be treated insane but I just felt the urge to share my thoughts.

So if you are looking for a movie that makes you laugh and cry and has stunning costumes you should definitely go and check out "THE DANISH GIRL".

Review Requiem by Lauren Oliver

Hey there!

So, I've finished the third book out of the delirium trilogy: REQUIEM by Lauren Oliver.

Here my review:

To be honest, I didn't really get into it until page 50 I guess but even after that I didn't really get captured by the story. I liked part one and two, pandemonium a little bit better than delirium, but requiem… I don't know. There was just no chemistry between us! And that's a pity because I was really looking forward to reading it!

Other than that I was kind of annoyed that Lena wouldn't choose between Alex and Julian. And I was hoping for some great romantic parts but they were barely there sadly.

I did enjoy reading the book though because although there was a lot that bothered me, there was also a lot that I liked!
I think it was great to see how Lena's character would grow and change, get stronger and become who she finally wants to be!
The ending is not quite clear in my opinion, I am not gonna spoiler it no worries! :)

The story all in all is really interesting and I loved how different all the characters were and how their paths crossed some way or the other.

All in all I can just give 2/5 stars for requiem.

Delirium tv show

I have just finished the pilot for delirium and I am in love! They twisted the story a little bit so it's not exactly as in the book but they really did an amazing job! And the cast was on point!
I'm fan girling so hard right now!

But sadly they never aired any more episodes so I am really hoping that they will change their mind someday and let us watch the rest! ☺️

book challenge

Thanks to school I couldn't be as active in the past few days as I would've wanted to...

So anyways, I came across a lot of reading challenge requests and I was thinking about it a lot too.
How many books do I wanna read this year? But then I thought, well, I don't know! I don't want to set a "goal" because I know I will be sad if I don't reach it. And what if school or maybe something else keeps me distracted..

So no, I am not settling down on a number of books I might or might not be reading in 12 months.

To be honest, and there might be some hate now, I don't think too much good about those reading goals! I know they are fun for a lot of people and don't get me wrong I am sure they motivate a lot to read many books in a certain period of time, but shouldn't reading a book be about enjoying the story and everything around it and not thinking about how much time I have left to finish my tbr list?
So you get stressed because you have only read 50 books out of 200 and it's already october.. That's just my opinion but I would be under so much pressure to reach my goal and literally devour the whole book! lol

Nevertheless everybody who decided to join the challenge,  I really wish you guys a lot of fun! Not in a sarcastic way, I swear!

It seems like I'm all negative about this topic but there are, of course, good sides too! Like the fact that you are likely to find really great books which are pretty unknown yet!

Everybody have a great week!

Jennifer Lawrence in JOY

JOY produced by David O. Russel

Hey there!

I just came back from watching "JOY" at the movie theater. I really didn't know what to expect and I was surprised!

The story is pretty easy to summarize: A young girl has a dream, she invents all different kinds of things and her grandmother encourages her to become a strong woman and to live her dream.
The young girl, Joy, grows up and has a little family, a job and a house. The thing is that she shares this house with her mother and later her father but those two do not get along at all, her grandmother, her kids and her ex husband. So a pretty full household. But she manages everything quite well.
Nevertheless Joy has some great ideas and she wants to implement them.
She works hard and tries to reach her goal but it's a long way and not everybody supports her.

Review: Like I said, I didn't know what to expect so I sat there and watched without any prejudice.
The first half an hour I think I was kind of unsure of wether I would like the movie or not. You know, there is a point where you usually know that this movie will or will not excite you. This was my moment to decide, and I really enjoyed it! The story all in all is grand! It definitely has you thinking about the content hours after leaving the theater and this is a great challenge. There are so many movies nowadays that let you think "Oh, yeah great, another one like the one I saw a month ago..." But not this one. The "American Dream" is what I would call what is happening in "JOY".
So David O. Russel made it happen again! After Silver Linings and American Hustle he, of course, produced another movie to be remembered!
Talking about Silver Linings, Jennifer Lawrence was breathtaking as always, but I am not surprised about that, I would have been if she was not! I dare to say that Jennifer is the most adorable and stunning actress nowadays and I am pretty sure that most people will agree here.
It does not matter what character she plays she will always be gorgeous and stunning and I am happy to say that she is my role model.
Other than that I have to admit that this was the first movie, in which I found Robert de Niro unappealing(perfect for his character).. He is one of my favorite actors and he did such an amazing job here too, I can't explain! The whole cast was just on point...
You could see that there was a great chemistry behind the camera, especially between Jennifer, Robert and Bradley Cooper.

The message this movie showed gave me personally so much motivation! If you have a dream go follow it! Fight for it and never let anybody bring you down! If it seems like there is no way to reach your dream, keep looking and never give up on anything!

You don't need a prince no get what you want

Leaving it like that I hope you guys enjoy or already enjoyed JOY as much as I did!
